Now, There Is No Fight Between Christians & Muslims; Tinubu Has Become The Problem – Rotimi Amaechi
In an interview on News Central TV on Friday, November 6, 2026, Rotimi Amaechi, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former governor of Rivers State, spoke about the relationship between Christians and Muslims in Nigeria and the challenges facing the country under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Amaechi made the remarks while discussing the political situation ahead of the 2027 general elections. He argued that the major problem confronting Nigerians was not religious differences between Christians and Muslims but the leadership of the country.
According to Amaechi, “Now, there is no fight between Christians and Muslims; Tinubu has become the problem.” He made the statement while explaining that Nigerians should focus on the challenges affecting the country rather than viewing the situation through religious divisions.
The former governor’s comments also formed part of a wider discussion about the economic difficulties facing Nigerians, particularly the rising cost of living, increasing fuel prices, and the consequences of the removal of fuel subsidy. He maintained that the policies of the Tinubu administration had contributed to the hardship experienced by many households.
Amaechi’s remarks brought attention to the political and economic issues expected to feature prominently in the 2027 general elections. He also used the interview to explain why he accepted to serve as the running mate to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on the ADC presidential ticket.
He concluded by maintaining that the country’s challenges should be addressed through responsible leadership and policies that improve the living conditions of Nigerians, rather than allowing religious differences to dominate national discussions.
