Ghanaians React As Prophet Kumchacha Reveals A Sècret About Some Ghanaian Pastors

According to a report by The BBC Ghana today being Friday, November 6, 2026, Prophet Kumchacha has taken a swipe at pastors in Accra who frequently use sophisticated English in their sermons, arguing that some of them are not genuine men of God.

The outspoken preacher suggested that speaking impressive English during church services does not automatically make a pastor authentic or prove that the individual has a genuine calling from God. He went further to describe some of these pastors as even more questionable than Bishop Daniel Obinim and other religious figures he referenced.

Kumchacha’s comments have attracted attention, particularly as conversations about the credibility of religious leaders continue to dominate public discussions in Ghana.

His remarks follow recent comments by Pastor Mensa Otabil, who reportedly claimed that 90 per cent of prophets in Ghana are crooks. Otabil’s statement generated debate about the activities of some religious leaders and the need for people to carefully examine those who claim to have special spiritual authority.

Joining the discussion, Kumchacha has raised concerns about the way certain pastors present themselves to their congregations. His argument centres on the belief that the use of sophisticated vocabulary should not be treated as proof of spiritual authenticity.

The preacher’s comparison involving Obinim has also added controversy to his comments, as the two names have frequently featured in public discussions about religious personalities in Ghana.

The development has renewed questions about the standards expected of pastors and prophets, particularly regarding their teachings, behaviour and relationship with their followers.

While some church members may appreciate pastors who communicate eloquently, Kumchacha’s position suggests that the substance of a preacher’s message should matter more than the language used to deliver it.

His statement is expected to attract different reactions from religious leaders, churchgoers and members of the public, especially those concerned about dishonest practices within the religious community.

The exchange has once again placed the issue of fake prophets and accountability among Ghanaian pastors at the centre of public conversation.
