Tinubu: In Edo You Can’t Get 2M Or 2.5M Votes The Governor Said He Will Give To You -Primate Ayodele

The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned President Bola Tinubu against expecting millions of votes from Edo State in the forthcoming presidential election.

Ayodele gave the warning in a recent video posted on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, while speaking about Tinubu’s electoral prospects and the number of votes he could receive from different states.

The cleric specifically challenged the president’s expected performance in Edo State, insisting that the figures being projected by the state’s governor might not reflect the actual support Tinubu enjoys among voters.

According to Ayodele, Tinubu should not expect to receive two million or 2.5 million votes from Edo State, despite whatever assurances the governor might have given him.

Ayodele said, “In Edo you can’t get 2 million or 2.5 million votes the governor said he will give to you.”

Ayodele’s statement appeared to question the confidence surrounding the political assurances being given to Tinubu by some of his allies ahead of the next presidential election.

He suggested that the president should not rely solely on promises from political leaders but should pay attention to the actual political situation and level of support among the electorate.

Edo State remains an important political battleground, particularly because of its influence in the South-South geopolitical zone. The state has witnessed intense political competition involving the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties.

Tinubu, who won the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the APC, will be seeking another mandate in 2027. His chances of securing victory will depend partly on the performance of his party and its political structures across the country.

The president’s relationship with governors and other influential political figures is also expected to play a significant role in the APC’s preparations for the election.

However, Ayodele’s latest comment suggests that political assurances from state leaders should not automatically be interpreted as guaranteed electoral victories.

The cleric did not provide further details about the basis for his assessment of Tinubu’s expected votes in Edo State or identify the specific assurances made by the governor.

His warning adds to his series of political predictions concerning Tinubu and other potential contenders ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
