Phakelumthakathi confronts a South African woman found with a Bangladeshi man

A video shared online shows anti-immigration activist Nkosikhona Ndabandaba, popularly known as Phakelumthakathi, visiting a house where he confronts a young South African woman after finding her with a Bangladeshi man. In the footage, he questions the woman about her involvement with a foreign national, expressing frustration that South Africans are entering relationships with foreign men while he and others are campaigning against immigration. He also confronts the Bangladeshi man.

What the post does not settle is what the man’s immigration status is, since the post says the footage and available reporting do not establish it. The post also does not say where the house is located or what led Phakelumthakathi to visit it. Those details matter because they would establish the context of his confrontation. Without them, the clip shows only the exchange, and the question of the man’s status remains unanswered.

People reacting to the post focused on Phakelumthakathi’s decision to confront the woman rather than only the man, with some saying South Africans were free to choose their partners and others saying his campaign was about immigration rather than relationships. Some defended his actions, saying he was challenging what he saw as a contradiction, while others said he had overstepped.

What has not been settled is whether the woman or the Bangladeshi man have commented on the confrontation or whether Phakelumthakathi has explained his actions. The post does not establish what the man’s immigration status is or whether he was in the country unlawfully. The public is waiting for more information, because the footage has raised questions about his campaign without any confirmation of the man’s status.
