Gor Mahia Suffer Major Injury Blow as Adu-Kwaw Faces Three Months Out

Gor Mahia will be without Ghanaian forward Ebenezer Adu-Kwaw for approximately three months after he underwent surgery in Nairobi. The club confirmed that the striker had a successful operation on Sunday, November 1, 2026, and is now recovering.

Team doctor Brian Odongo announced the development on Monday, November 2, saying the player was responding well to treatment. He explained that Adu-Kwaw would need about three months away from football to allow adequate recovery.

The forward has not featured for Gor Mahia since the CECAFA tournament in Kigali, Rwanda. His latest medical setback means he will remain unavailable as the club continues its 2026/27 campaign.

Adu-Kwaw’s absence leaves Gor Mahia without one of their attacking options during a busy period in the league. The team will have to manage its forward line while the Ghanaian undergoes rehabilitation before returning to competitive action.

Gor Mahia are scheduled to face Nairobi United on Sunday, November 8, at Wamg’uru Stadium in Mwea. The sixth-round FKF Premier League match will kick off at 4:15 pm, with the club seeking to maintain its position at the top of the standings.

Other key fixtures include AFC Leopards’ away match against 3K FC in Embu on Saturday, November 7. Shabana will also travel to face Mombasa United, while Bandari host Tusker and Kakamega Homeboyz welcome Kenya Police on Sunday.

The three-month recovery estimate means Gor Mahia must plan for an extended spell without Adu-Kwaw. His progress during rehabilitation will determine when he can return to full training and become available for selection.
