Former KTN Journalist Linda Ogutu Reacts As Kalonzo Threatens To Leave The Opposition
Former KTN journalist Lindah Oguttu has reacted after Wiper Party leaders threatened to abandon the united opposition over alleged disrespect.
In a post shared on X on Tuesday, Oguttu, popularly known as Mtu ya Mjenge, quoted a report by NTV Kenya on the unfolding rift within the opposition.
“Hii maneno ya opposition ni ngumu,” Oguttu wrote, which translates to “This opposition matter is difficult.”
The post was in reaction to an NTV Kenya report published three hours earlier, which stated: “Wiper leaders threaten to abandon united opposition over ‘disrespect’.”
The report was accompanied by a photo of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka speaking into a microphone while wearing a blue cap and blue suit.
Wiper leaders have in recent days expressed dissatisfaction with how they are being treated within the united opposition, arguing that their party is not being given the respect it deserves despite its long-standing role in opposition politics.
The threat to leave the coalition has sparked debate online, with supporters and critics questioning whether the united opposition can hold together ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Oguttu’s short but pointed reaction captured the frustration of many Kenyans who have been following the opposition’s internal wrangles, with many saying the constant disagreements are weakening the opposition’s ability to present a united front against President William Ruto’s government.
Her comment has attracted reactions from her followers, with some agreeing that opposition politics in Kenya has become difficult, while others urged leaders to put aside personal differences and focus on the common goal.
By the time of publishing, Kalonzo Musyoka and other Wiper leaders had not announced a final decision on whether they will officially quit the united opposition.
