EPWP worker confronted over allegedly working as an ANC party agent

A woman employed through the Expanded Public Works Programme is confronted by a group of men who question why she is allegedly working as an ANC party agent while she is supposed to be carrying out her EPWP duties. The men challenge her over her alleged involvement in ANC political activities while being employed through a public work programme. The video captures the confrontation as they demand an explanation from her.

One thing the post leaves open is what the woman said in response to the men’s questions, since the clip does not set out her explanation or whether she acknowledged working as a party agent. The post also does not say where the confrontation took place or when the footage was recorded. Those details matter because they would establish the context of the exchange. Without them, her alleged role as an ANC party agent has not been independently confirmed.

People reacting to the post questioned whether she was working as a party agent while being paid through a public programme, with some saying the EPWP should not be used for political work and others saying the men’s challenge was justified. Some said the woman should explain her position, while others said the confrontation should not have been filmed without knowing the facts.

What remains unresolved is whether the woman or the ANC has commented on the allegation or whether any investigation has been opened. The post does not establish whether she was in fact working as a party agent or whether the men’s claim is accurate. The public is waiting for more information, because her alleged role has not been independently confirmed and no official response has been given.
