When El-Rufai Lost His Mother BAT Gave Order That He Should Be Released,That Wasn’t The Court—Shaibu

Phrank Shaibu, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has stated that the continued detention of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai is due to his political disagreement with President Tinubu

In an interview with Channels Television, Shaibu said El-Rufai was temporarily released to attend his mother’s burial and that the release was granted by Tinubu rather than a court order

Shaibu also described the bail conditions imposed on El-Rufai as obnoxious and added that Tinubu knows what to do if he wants El-Rufai released.

In Phrank Shaibu’s words: “If he has sincerity of faith he would not keep a fellow Muslim Nasir El-Rufai, over minor political disagreement, in detention perpetually. We have seen the president intervene even in judiciary. You remember that within the period Nasir lost his mother, Tinubu gave an order that he should be released. That was not the court, so he knows what to do. The conditions they gave for his bail are obnoxious”
