Toke Makinwa Celebrates 42nd Birthday With Praise and Worship

Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa has marked her 42nd birthday by expressing gratitude to God through a special praise and worship session.

The former radio presenter celebrated her new age in a different way, inviting a praise singer to lead her in songs of thanksgiving.

Makinwa shared a video on her Instagram page showing her dancing joyfully as the singer performed. She explained that the praise session was her way of appreciating God for something personal in her life.

In her birthday message, she expressed gratitude for the past 365 days and reaffirmed her faith that God would also attend to another matter she had been praying about.

She wrote, “365 days around the sun. I owe God this praise over a personal matter, and I’m here to give it, for you are a good God. That second matter too dey o, but I know you will still do it. TM day, it’s my birthday, and I spent my morning with my daddy.”

The mother of one also shared beautiful birthday photographs in which she wore a white dress and matching head tie. Describing herself as a child of grace, she acknowledged God’s faithfulness throughout the previous year.

Makinwa disclosed that she had almost abandoned the idea of taking birthday pictures but appreciated her team for making the photoshoot happen.

She wrote, “Happy birthday, Omotoke, Child of grace. The last 365 days God has carried you. I almost didn’t take these pictures. I am so grateful to the team for pulling out everything to get me to do this shoot.”

Her birthday celebration comes after an eventful year, following the arrival of her daughter, Yakira Eliana, whom she welcomed in 2025.

The media personality has previously spoken about how motherhood changed her lifestyle and personality. She explained that pregnancy kept her indoors for much of the year, unlike her usual outgoing lifestyle.
