Regina Daniels: Ned Nwoko send special appeal to Nigerians

Spread the word Senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to Nigerians, particularly bloggers, fans and social media users, to stop circulating false reports about the health and alleged death of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, urging the public to give her room to recover.

Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, made the appeal in a statement shared on his Instagram page on Monday, November 2, amid renewed public attention surrounding the actress’s health and the couple’s marital crisis, blueprint reports.

The senator expressed concern over the circulation of fabricated death announcements, misleading reports and other publications about Daniels, describing them as distressing and unhelpful to her recovery.

“I want to make a sincere appeal to the public, particularly Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators, to please give Regina some breathing space,” he said.

He added that his appeal was also motivated by the welfare of their two children, who, according to him, deserved to see their mother supported and given every opportunity to recover.

“Regina has been through a lot, more than many people may realise, and right now, what she needs most is love, support and the opportunity to recover,” he stated.

The lawmaker said he was particularly troubled by reports falsely announcing the actress’s death, warning that such publications could worsen the difficulties she was already experiencing.

He argued that the circulation of fabricated stories should not be dismissed as ordinary social media engagement, noting that Daniels was aware of many of the publications and found them distressing.

Nwoko appealed to her supporters to discourage the spread of unverified information rather than amplify it for online attention.

He also warned bloggers and social media users against deliberately inventing stories about the actress to attract clicks and engagement.

“I will not tolerate the deliberate spread of false information about Regina, particularly fabricated reports about her death, health or personal circumstances,” he said.

According to him, his team was documenting the publications and those found responsible could face legal action through appropriate channels.

Nwoko also referred to a video Daniels shared on her 25th birthday on October 10, 2026, saying it offered the public a glimpse into some of the health challenges she had been experiencing.

The actress had appeared in a wheelchair in the birthday video and spoke about difficulties affecting her mobility, including pain and challenges with walking.

Her disclosure generated widespread reactions, with fans expressing concern and seeking clarification about her condition.

However, the development also triggered speculation and unverified reports about her health, including false claims that she had died.

Nwoko said the situation called for compassion rather than public judgement, adding that the actress deserved the opportunity to recover without being subjected to constant scrutiny.

The senator’s appeal comes against the backdrop of the public marital disagreement between him and Daniels, which became widely discussed in October 2025.

The couple, who married in 2019 and have two sons together, exchanged allegations during the dispute, with Daniels accusing Nwoko of abusive and controlling behaviour, claims he denied.

Nwoko, on his part, attributed their difficulties to alleged substance abuse by the actress, an allegation Daniels disputed.

The disagreement generated considerable attention on social media, with supporters of both parties weighing in on their private affairs.

In his latest statement, however, Nwoko said that despite the difficulties in their relationship, Daniels’ well-being remained important to him.

He maintained that the public should avoid spreading false information about her health and personal circumstances.

The senator did not announce a reconciliation in the statement but appealed for restraint, insisting that the actress needed support and privacy as she worked towards recovery.

He concluded that those responsible for deliberately circulating fabricated reports would be held accountable through appropriate legal channels.
