Planned Long Blackout Tomorrow, Check If You Will Be Affected

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in parts of Kiambu and Kwale counties on Wednesday, November 4, as the company prepares to carry out routine maintenance on its electricity network.

In a notice issued on Tuesday, November 3, the utility provider listed two separate areas that will experience temporary power outages, with some customers expected to remain without electricity for several hours.

In the Nairobi Region, the interruption will affect parts of Mwihoko in Kiambu County. The shutdown is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am and end at 5:00 pm.

Among the affected locations are Mwithiritia SDA, St Lucy Kiriri University, Muigai, Discovery and Mutuya. Kenya Power also warned that other customers connected to the affected electricity network would experience the interruption.

Residents and businesses in these areas have been advised to take note of the scheduled maintenance period and make the necessary arrangements before the supply is interrupted.

A separate outage has also been planned for parts of Kwale County in the Coast Region.

According to the notice, customers around Petrocity Bonje will experience a power interruption between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.

The facilities listed for the affected area include Shell Bonje, Kilimanjaro Biscuits, Petrocity, Afro Afya and Premium Fuels. Other electricity customers connected to the same network will also be affected.

The two shutdowns are part of Kenya Power’s routine maintenance activities, which are intended to facilitate work on its electricity distribution network.

The company regularly publishes planned interruption notices to inform customers in advance and allow households, institutions and businesses to prepare for temporary loss of electricity.

Customers in the listed areas should therefore check the notice carefully, particularly those operating businesses or relying on electricity-dependent equipment during the affected hours.
