Okosubide Mozimo as chairman of its Caretaker Committee to oversee the affairs of the association.
Mozimo emerged chairman at a stakeholders’ meeting and election held on October 31, 2026.
Capt. Damilola Olufemi Adelana was elected vice president, while Femi Adekoya emerged financial secretary.
The committee takes over from Air Vice Marshal Femi Idowu (rtd), who led the association from its inception.
In his acceptance speech, Mozimo thanked members for the confidence reposed in the committee and paid tribute to Idowu for his leadership and contributions to the association.
He said the committee had been mandated to stabilise the association, reconcile stakeholders, revalidate its membership and organise a credible elective Annual General Meeting (AGM) within its tenure.
Mozimo identified expanding NUSA’s membership nationwide as a priority, saying the committee would seek to bring more government agencies, drone operators and other stakeholders into the association.
He also said the committee would focus on regulatory engagement, professionalism and capacity building, while strengthening collaboration with government agencies, oil and gas operators and the agricultural sector.
According to him, the aim is to harness the economic potential of unmanned systems in Nigeria while promoting a safer and more professional drone ecosystem.
NUSA, the umbrella body for licensed drone operators and stakeholders in Nigeria’s unmanned aviation sector, said the new committee would build on the foundation laid by its former leadership.
The committee called on members, regulators and other stakeholders to support its efforts to strengthen the association and advance the country’s unmanned aviation sector.
Mozimo is an electrical and electronics engineer with a master’s degree in project management and an MBA from Robert Kennedy College, University of Cumbria, Switzerland. He is the Managing Director of ARCO Worldwide Services Limited, described by the association as one of Nigeria’s largest NCAA-certified commercial drone operators. He also led the establishment of ARCO Aviation Academy, which the association described as the country’s first NCAA-approved drone pilot training academy.
Adelana, the new vice president, is a former offshore helicopter pilot with Bristow Helicopters Nigeria and was described as Nigeria’s first NCAA Designated RPAS Inspector. He is the founder and chief executive officer of U.F.O. Aerials Services Ltd.
Adekoya, popularly known as “The Flyingfarmer”, is the founder and managing director of agritech firm Integrated Aerial Precision (IAPrecision) and Nigeria’s country representative to the International Society of Precision Agriculture.
