List of Bank of Ghana Blacklisted 20 Loan Apps, Warns Public Against Using Them
The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has issued a strong warning to the public against using 20 digital loan applications operating without the necessary licence or authorisation to provide credit services in the country.
In a public notice released on November 3, 2026, the central bank identified the applications as unlicensed providers and urged Ghanaians to avoid engaging with them. The warning forms part of ongoing efforts by the Bank of Ghana, in collaboration with the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), to sanitise the digital lending industry and protect consumers.
The 20 applications named by the central bank are Active Loan, Boafo Cash, Cediln, Fair Moni, Fast Loan, Halo Loan, Jmoney, Kredi, KudiNow, LendJet, MeCedi, NhyiraCash, Palcash, Quick Eazzy, SikaFlow, SikaNea, Swift Lending, TrustCredit GH, Velzo and Zedvance.
According to the Bank, the operations of these digital credit providers raise serious concerns about customer data privacy, consumer protection and compliance with established financial regulations. Their activities also contravene the Directive for Digital Credit Service Providers in Ghana, which was issued in September 2025.
The central bank stressed that it would continue working with relevant state institutions to identify, investigate and take appropriate enforcement action against unlicensed digital lending businesses.
It also cautioned banks, specialised deposit-taking institutions and payment service providers against facilitating or processing transactions on behalf of the identified operators.
Members of the public who encounter unlicensed digital loan providers have been encouraged to report their activities to the appropriate authorities. Reports can be made through the Bank of Ghana’s Head of Fintech and Innovation Department at Bank Square, Ridge, Accra, by calling or texting 292.
The warning serves as an important reminder for Ghanaians to verify the regulatory status of digital lending platforms before sharing personal information or entering into financial agreements with them.
