If They Don’t Come On Our Radio Shows, We Don’t Turn Off Our Transmitters — Adinkrah To Amoakohene
Legendary broadcaster Dr Kwame Adinkrah has expressed frustration over what he describes as the repeated failure of Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene to honour invitations for radio interviews. He insists that the absence of public officials from media platforms will not stop broadcasters from carrying out their responsibility of discussing issues of public interest.
Speaking on his political morning show on Kessben TV and FM on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Dr Adinkrah said he no longer makes efforts to secure the minister’s participation because previous attempts have not yielded any results. He explained that despite making several attempts through about four different producers to arrange interviews with the regional minister, Dr Amoakohene had not appeared for any of them.
The broadcaster maintained that although the minister may choose not to accept invitations to appear on their programmes, the station will continue its broadcasts and discussions. He made it clear that the absence of government officials would not prevent the media from performing its role.
“If you invite the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Amoakohene, for a radio interview, he won’t come, so I don’t bother myself trying. But they should know that if they don’t appear on our radio shows, we don’t turn off our transmitters,” he said.
His remarks highlight his concerns about the minister’s alleged lack of participation in interview invitations and the importance of keeping public discussions going, whether or not the officials concerned are available to respond.
