I Would swap next Ballon D’Or for Champions League trophy – Kane
According to a report from Daily Post Nigeria, on Tues November 03, 2026, Harry Kane has made his priorities clear: he would gladly forgo the chance to win another Ballon d’Or if doing so helped Bayern Munich capture the Champions League trophy.
The England captain spoke ahead of Bayern’s match against Atlético Madrid, explaining that individual honours cannot compare with the prospect of winning Europe’s biggest club competition with his current team.
Kane has described his previous Ballon d’Or achievement as one of the most memorable moments of his life, but believes a Champions League triumph with Bayern would be an equally special if not even more meaningful milestone.
Bayern came close to reaching the final last season. They advanced to the semi-finals but were eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain, who went on to win the competition, after a dramatic 6–5 aggregate defeat.
Despite his remarkable career, Kane has yet to lift the Champions League trophy. He also did not win the competition during his years at Tottenham, making success with Bayern a significant personal ambition.
“I think I’d swap the next Ballon d’Or for a Champions League triumph,” Kane said. He added that winning the tournament with Bayern would bring an “absolutely incredible feeling.” His comments underline his desire to achieve a major team honour, even if it means sacrificing the chance for further individual recognition.
