Gogo Maweni Turns Heads with Soweto Derby Photos from FNB Stadium

Gogo Maweni got people talking online after sharing photos of herself in the stands at FNB Stadium during the Soweto derby over the weekend. The traditional healer, reality television personality and businesswoman posted the pictures on Instagram on Monday, 2 November 2026. In them, she is dressed in a polished look as she enjoys the match-day atmosphere.

Her caption sent a confident message to her followers: “EVEN HATING ME WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. I’M JUST THAT INSPIRATIONAL”. She also thanked the people behind her look, naming her hair stylist, nail technician, eyelash and brow specialists and the photographer. She said she did her own makeup.

The post stood out for mixing glamour with the energy of a football match day, something that has become part of her public image. Maweni is known for combining traditional ancestral practices with a lavish, modern lifestyle. She has built a strong profile in South Africa as a sangoma who is just as comfortable talking about her work as she is sharing fashion moments.

Fans reacted to both the photos and the confident caption, and the post once again led to conversation about her self-belief and her unique personality. Maweni is a polarising figure. Her supporters often praise her boldness and her business mindset, while her critics question her public style and outspoken manner.

The Soweto derby is one of the most closely followed fixtures in South African football, and FNB Stadium is known for its charged atmosphere on derby day, when large crowds turn out to back their teams. That setting gave her post a fitting backdrop, while the focus stayed on her fashion and personal brand.

She is widely known as Gogo Maweni, and is also identified as Makgotso Lee-Anne Makopo and as Makhotso Lee-Anne Mofokeng. Her presence on reality television and social media keeps her a regular subject of online discussion, and fans often react to her captions as much as her pictures.

Whether followers saw the caption as playful, provocative or motivational, it gave them plenty to talk about.
