Gachagua, Sifuna, Matiangi & Others Left Aside As Ndegwa Names ‘The Glue’ Which Holds Opposition
Political commentator and lawyer Ndegwa Njiru has weighed in on the ongoing dynamics within the opposition coalition, emphasizing the critical role played by Kalonzo Musyoka.
Speaking during a broadcast on Radio Maisha, Njiru stated that the Wiper Party leader is the fundamental element maintaining cohesion among the various opposition factions.
He noted that Musyoka’s position is currently unassailable and that no political maneuverings should be permitted to jeopardize the existing unity of the group.
Njiru further clarified the opposition’s collective stance regarding future electoral strategies. He indicated that the constituent parties are fully prepared to rally behind a consensus flagbearer once one is selected.
This commitment to a unified front, he suggested, demonstrates the coalition’s maturity and focus on challenging the current administration rather than engaging in internal strife.
However, the legal expert issued a strong warning against the use of coercive political tactics. He condemned what he described as chest thumping by certain leaders who present the electorate with rigid ultimatums.
Njiru argued that the narrative suggesting it must be a specific preferred candidate or else the incumbent, William Ruto, will prevail is detrimental to the democratic process.
He called for an immediate cessation of such divisive rhetoric, urging leaders to prioritize dialogue and collective decision making over imposing their individual preferences on the broader coalition.
