Former MKP Secretary-General Nomvalo Alleges R3 Million Monthly Transfers To Thalente Myeni

Speaking at a media briefing following his removal from both his executive post and parliamentary caucus, Nomvalo claimed that these recurring transfers bypassed formal organizational oversight. He suggested that his efforts to establish institutional financial controls and demand accountability created conflict with party members benefiting from informal power structures.

Thalente Myeni’s business dealings previously drew scrutiny during the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into State Capture, which examined payments totaling over R3 million made by his firm, Premier Attraction 1016, some of which were subsequently directed toward the Jacob Zuma Foundation. However, Nomvalo’s latest allegations focus specifically on recent funds originating from MK Party accounts.

While Nomvalo did not release supporting bank statements or financial documentation to independently verify the alleged transactions, his claims intensify public scrutiny over the MK Party’s internal governance and fund distribution. Additionally, Nomvalo alleged that party president Jacob Zuma was being misled by false intelligence reports supplied by certain high-ranking officials to turn him against internal reformers.

In previous statements regarding Nomvalo’s dismissal, MK Party leadership attributed his removal to administrative issues, including disputes over candidate selection, dual remuneration, and organizational restructuring. The party has yet to formally respond to the specific financial allegations raised by the former secretary-general.
