Bongo Reveals Alleged Reason Ablakwa Sued NPP Communicator Gyewu And Media General

According to a Post on Bongo Ideas official facebook account on Tuesday, November 3,2026,Ghanaian social commentator Bongo Ideas has weighed in on the legal action reportedly initiated by Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa against New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicator Benjamin Gyewu-Appiah and Media General, following controversial allegations concerning the evacuation of Ghanaians from South Africa.

In a Facebook post, Bongo Ideas highlighted comments allegedly made by Gyewu-Appiah during an appearance on Onua FM, where the NPP communicator accused Ablakwa of diverting funds intended for the evacuation exercise and allegedly spending the money on musician Fantana.

Gyewu-Appiah reportedly made a direct allegation about the minister’s relationship with the musician, claiming that money meant for the evacuation was given to her.

“What pains me is that he has given all the money he took to Fantana. Do you know his girl is Fantana?” he was quoted as saying.

The NPP communicator allegedly went further to describe Ablakwa as a thief and predicted that the minister and his wife would eventually face imprisonment over the matter.

He also alleged that Ablakwa’s wife was involved in purchasing tickets for the evacuation exercise and claimed that the minister had acquired 17 houses for Fantana using the funds.

Reacting to the controversy, Bongo Ideas questioned Gyewu-Appiah’s conduct and suggested that the NPP should take disciplinary action against him over the allegations.

The social commentator also recalled an earlier controversy involving the NPP communicator ahead of the 2024 general elections, when he reportedly threatened to set himself on fire if former President John Dramani Mahama won the election.
