Ato Forson Speaks on Jobs, Higher Incomes and Business Growth Ahead of 2027 Budget

Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has indicated that the government will use the 2027 Budget Statement to explain how Ghana’s economic recovery will be translated into job opportunities, improved incomes and increased growth for local businesses.

The Minister is expected to present the budget to Parliament on Thursday, November 12, 2026, with a focus on ensuring that the progress made in stabilising the economy produces meaningful benefits for citizens.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Dr Forson stressed that the next stage of Ghana’s economic recovery must deliver measurable improvements in the living conditions of Ghanaians.

He identified employment opportunities for young people, better earnings for farmers and an improved business environment for local enterprises as key areas that should benefit from the country’s economic gains.

The Finance Minister also indicated that the upcoming budget would outline the government’s strategy for converting the progress achieved so far into broader economic opportunities and prosperity.

His comments suggest that job creation, agricultural income growth and private-sector expansion will feature prominently in the 2027 fiscal plan.
