2027: NDC Reveals What Is Behind Peter Obi’s Health Concerns, Gives Fresh Update

According to a report by DAILY POST on Tuesday 3 November 2026, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has broken its silence over concerns about the health of its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, dismissing suggestions that he is battling any medical condition.

The party insisted that Obi is in good health, explaining that his recent physical exhaustion is largely connected to his demanding political schedule and frequent travels.

The clarification was made by the NDC Deputy Campaign Spokesperson, Dr. Sam Omale, during an interview on Channels Television.

Omale explained that Obi’s commitment to his political engagements has continued to place considerable demands on his time and energy, leaving him with limited opportunities to rest.

He noted that the former Anambra State governor frequently moves between different locations within short periods, making his schedule particularly demanding.

According to Omale, Obi’s ability to travel long distances and attend several engagements within a short time has sometimes left members of his team wondering how he manages to sustain such a pace.

“Sometimes I wonder where he gets his energy from; He is in London today and the following morning in Enugu; I’m wondering how he does it; Exhaustion comes in; he is a human being,” he said.

Addressing the concerns directly, Omale maintained that there was nothing medically wrong with the NDC presidential candidate, describing his condition as ordinary exhaustion resulting from insufficient rest.

He further disclosed that those working closely with Obi had been making efforts to persuade him to take a break and get adequate sleep instead of continuing with his packed schedule.

“He is in perfect health; There’s nothing wrong with him; It’s just exhaustion, and we are trying to calm him down to take a sleep; He is fine,” he stated.

Omale also dismissed concerns that the exhaustion could interfere with the party’s political activities, maintaining that Obi remained committed to the NDC’s preparations ahead of the 2027 general election.
