The campaign, which commenced on Saturday, 31 October 2026, witnessed enthusiastic receptions in several communities, with supporters lining roads in Okene and neighbouring areas to welcome the Senator’s motorcade with solidarity songs and chants.
The activities culminated in a large gathering at her residence in Obeiba, Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, where thousands of supporters and party faithful reportedly converged to demonstrate their support for her re-election bid.
According to a statement from her media office, the campaign launch marked the beginning of renewed engagement with constituents ahead of the 6 February 2027 senatorial election.
The turnout attracted community leaders, political associates and party stakeholders from across the five local government areas of Kogi Central, namely Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okehi, Okene and Ogori-Magongo.
Akpoti-Uduaghan was accompanied by her husband, High Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, personal aides and prominent political associates.
Also participating in the campaign engagements were PDP candidates seeking election to the National Assembly and Kogi State House of Assembly in 2027.
The candidates included those contesting the House of Representatives seats for the Adavi/Okehi, Ajaokuta, and Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituencies, as well as the party’s candidates for the various state assembly constituencies across Kogi Central.
Addressing the gathering, Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed appreciation to the constituents for the massive turnout, describing their participation as a reflection of the relationship she had continued to build with the people.
She reaffirmed her commitment to quality representation and constituency development, insisting that her responsibility to the people was not limited to election periods.
“My relationship with the people of Kogi Central goes beyond elections. These are my people, my family and the very reason I remain committed to public service. I do not need an election season to remember where I come from or who entrusted me with the responsibility of representing them,” she said.
The Senator said she was particularly grateful to supporters who attended the campaign activities out of their personal conviction and confidence in her political journey.
“What we witnessed today is a reflection of the bond we have continued to build over time. I am deeply grateful to everyone who came out, not because they were compelled to do so, but because they believe in the journey we have undertaken together.
“Their love and confidence mean a great deal to me, and I will never take them for granted,” she added.
On her development agenda, Akpoti-Uduaghan pledged to intensify legislative advocacy for critical infrastructure, economic opportunities and other interventions aimed at improving the living conditions of residents across the senatorial district.
She particularly highlighted the need to sustain efforts to address longstanding developmental concerns in the Ajaokuta area.
The lawmaker maintained that effective representation must go beyond occupying public office, stressing the importance of consistent engagement with constituents, responsiveness to their needs and purposeful legislative interventions.
The participation of PDP candidates in the campaign also provided an opportunity for party stakeholders to strengthen consultations and promote cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The gathering at the Senator’s Ihima residence reportedly continued late into the night, with supporters and party faithful engaging the lawmaker and other political stakeholders.
The campaign launch marks the start of a new phase of political mobilisation and engagement across Kogi Central as the February 2027 senatorial election approaches.
