You Have No Audacity To Speak Against Mahama; NPP Mismanaged The Economy – Owusu Bempah To Bawumia
Ernest Owusu Bempah has commented on the ongoing disagreement between supporters of Kennedy Agyapong and former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, making it clear that he supports Agyapong.
He criticised Bawumia and his camp for attacking former President John Mahama, insisting that they lack the moral authority to do so while Mahama is working to address Ghana’s economic challenges.
Owusu Bempah accused the previous NPP government of mismanaging the economy under Bawumia’s economic leadership. He alleged that the cedi fell to GH¢17 against the dollar during the administration.
He, however, commended Mahama for taking steps to stabilise the economy and reduce the exchange rate, saying the efforts demonstrate the importance of capable leadership and a clear vision.
He further urged the NPP to undertake internal reforms and make room for leaders with fresh ideas and progressive thinking.
Owusu Bempah maintained that members of the previous administration should be cautious about criticising Mahama. He also challenged Bawumia’s suitability to manage the economy, citing the sharp depreciation of the cedi during his tenure.
