WSports International gives PRESEC major sports boost
WSports International, a sports development and consulting organisation, has handed Presbyterian Boysā Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon, a major sporting boost with the donation of equipment and kits aimed at strengthening athlete development, improving training facilities and expanding competitive opportunities for students.
The sponsorship makes PRESEC the 21st school nationwide and the first in the Greater Accra Region to benefit from the Accra-based sports development and consulting organisationās initiative to modernise sports in Ghanaās second-cycle institutions.
The package includes high-jump and pole-vault landing foam, home and away football kits, basketball jerseys, tracksuits, footballs and polo shirts for sports officials.
The equipment is expected to improve training conditions, strengthen PRESECās sporting identity and provide students with the resources to develop their talents and compete more effectively.
The presentation ceremony last Friday attracted Sports and Recreation Minister, Kofi Iddie Adams, PRESEC Board Chairman and Global President of Odadee, Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong; the schoolās Headmaster, David Odjija; members of the Odadee fraternity, teachers and students.
Presenting the items, WSports International Chairman, Nana Bediako Brogya Sarpong, said the initiative reflected the organisationās commitment to creating opportunities for young sporting talents.
He explained that PRESEC was selected because of its outstanding achievements in academics and extracurricular activities, including the National Science and Maths Quiz, robotics, football, hockey, basketball and debating.

āExcellence deserves recognition, irrespective of the institution that produces it,ā Nana Brogya Sarpong, who is also the Dompiahene of the Agogo Asante Akyim Traditional Area, said.
A proud alumnus of Prempeh College, Nana Brogya Sarpong acknowledged the longstanding rivalry between his former school and PRESEC but insisted that competition should never prevent institutions from supporting one another.
He recalled how Dr Ofori Sarpong previously assisted Prempeh Collegeās robotics team despite the rivalry, describing the gesture as an example of leadership that places youth development above institutional loyalty.
Receiving the equipment, Dr Ofori Sarpong expressed appreciation to WSports International, describing the sponsorship as a timely intervention that would strengthen the schoolās sporting programmes.
He said PRESECās selection as the first beneficiary in Greater Accra was an honour for the institution and the wider Odadee fraternity.
Although PRESEC had established an impressive academic reputation, he noted that the donation offered an opportunity to raise its sporting standards.
He particularly welcomed the football and basketball uniforms and high-jump facilities, which would support talent identification and help nurture athletes capable of representing Ghana at higher levels.
Sports and Recreation Minister, Kofi Adams, also commended WSports International and its chairman for extending the initiative to 21 schools nationwide.
He described the equipment donation as a practical investment in grass-roots sports development and the discovery of future champions.
He further emphasised the need to strengthen the connection between inter-house competitions, inter-school sports, district and regional competitions, national school sports festivals and university-level competitions to create a more effective pathway for nurturing sporting talents in Ghana.
