OPay postpones IPO on New York Stock Exchange
Nigeria’s leading digital bank, OPay, has postponed its planned Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
In a statement issued yesterday, OPay Limited (“OPay” or “the Company”) informed its customers, business partners and the general public that it had decided to postpone its planned IPO on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) at this time.
According to the statement signed by the management, “the company’s decision follows careful consideration of an ongoing inquiry by a regulatory authority. The inquiry does not affect the services OPay provides to its customers or the way it runs business in Nigeria or other business markets. OPay decided to postpone, as it is in the best interests of the company and its customers.
“OPay continues to serve its customers and business partners as usual, with all services fully available. Customers can continue to send and receive money, make payments, and save money without interruption.
“OPay appreciates the continued trust and support of its customers, merchants, agents, business partners, employees and other stakeholders. The company remains committed to making financial services more inclusive through technology.”
