Just Days After Concluding Ukambani Tour, Ruto Announces Fresh Visit to Kisii and Nyamira

President William Ruto is preparing for another major visit to the Gusii region, with Kisii and Nyamira counties set to receive the Head of State for a three-day development tour starting next week.

According to an announcement made on Monday, November 2, 2026, Ruto is expected to visit the two counties from Monday, November 9, to Wednesday, November 11.

South Mugirango Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro confirmed the planned visit, saying the President would tour the region to launch and inspect various development projects.

In his announcement, Osoro revealed that several projects would feature during the presidential visit, including road construction works in South Mugirango Constituency.

Among the roads expected to receive attention are the Sengenya-Openda-Karungu-Kiagware Road and the Nyakeyo-Nyamasege-Nyakorere-Moma roads.

The MP also hinted at major announcements during the visit, although the full programme has not yet been released.

Osoro said the detailed itinerary would be shared once it was complete, asking residents to prepare for the President’s arrival.

The announcement comes days after Ruto’s earlier planned visit to the Gusii region was postponed. The previous tour had been scheduled for October 23 to October 26, but local leaders reportedly requested more time to organise pending programmes and prepare for the visit.

The latest announcement therefore puts Kisii and Nyamira back on the President’s schedule.

The visit also comes as political activities continue to gain momentum ahead of the 2027 General Election, with leaders from different political camps seeking to strengthen their influence in the region.

Ruto’s three-day tour is expected to provide an opportunity for residents to hear directly from the government about ongoing development projects and future plans.

However, attention will also be on the specific projects he will launch, inspect and announce during the visit, as well as the issues residents will raise.
