According to a report by Daily Post on Sunday, November 1, 2026, All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council Director of Manufacturing and MSME Sector Mobilization and Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Owan Enoh, has warned the party’s leadership and members in Cross River State not to repeat their dismal performance from the 2023 presidential election.

In order to achieve a more comprehensive victory in the 2027 general election, he emphasized the importance of party stakeholders stepping up their mobilization efforts.

The inauguration of the executives of Cross River State and the coordinators of polling units for Project Beyond 2027 took place in Calabar, where Enoh delivered the warning.

While addressing the need for a more effective political strategy, he reminded party members of the difficulties the APC faced in the previous presidential election.

According to the minister, the APC shouldn’t be content with winning a small number of LGAs in the state.

He believes the party has to do better in the upcoming election by bolstering its grassroots structures, stepping up its mobilization efforts, and making sure its supporters are ready to win at the polls.

In addition, he urged the newly installed executives and coordinators to do all in their power to ensure that President Bola Tinubu and the APC won in each of Cross River State’s eighteen LGAs.

To avoid a repeat of its 2023 performance in the upcoming election, he stressed, the party must fix the problems that led to its poor showing.

Despite the APC’s best efforts to garner support across the state in the 2023 presidential election, Enoh recalled that the party’s performance in Cross River was unfavorable.

The voting pattern, he pointed out, demonstrated that the ruling party was not dominant in the local government areas, and that opposition candidates had triumphs in various regions of the state.

He went on to say that out of the eight LGAs that were contested, President Tinubu won seven and Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate, won one.

The APC’s performance in the state was greatly impacted by Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labor Party, who won the remaining ten local government areas.

“In the 2023 election, out of 18 local governments, our president only won seven. Atiku won one. Ten of Cross River’s local governments were won by Peter Obi,” he said.
