‘Give Regina some breathing space’ – Ned Nwoko appeals to public amid reports about actress

Nigerian senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to the public, particularly bloggers, social media commentators and fans of actress Regina Daniels, to show her compassion and give her space to recover amid ongoing public attention surrounding her personal life.

In a statement shared on his social media page, the senator urged people to stop spreading what he described as false reports about the actress, saying she needed love, support and understanding rather than public criticism.

Nwoko, who is estranged from Daniels, said the appeal was also important for the sake of their children, whom he said were being well cared for and deserved to see their mother supported.

“Regina has been through a lot, more than many people may realise, and right now, what she needs most is love, support and the opportunity to recover,” he said.

He referred to a video Daniels shared on her birthday, saying it offered the public a glimpse of some of the health challenges she had been dealing with.

According to him, having known what she had experienced, the current situation should not be an opportunity for people to judge or vilify her.

“As someone who knows what she has been through, I can tell you that this is not a time to judge, vilify or add to her burdens. It is a time to show compassion and allow her the opportunity to heal,” he stated.

Nwoko acknowledged the difficulties in their relationship but insisted that Daniels’ well-being remained important to him.

“Regardless of the difficulties we have faced, her well-being has always mattered to me,” he added, noting that concern for her welfare was what brought much of their private situation into the public domain.

His appeal comes amid continued public discussion about the actress and her relationship with the senator, with Nwoko urging fans and online commentators to exercise restraint and allow her the space to focus on her well-being.
