Beautiful Photos of Former KTN Presenter Arrested in Nairobi Over Her Mother’s Murder
Photos have emerged of former television presenter and actress Regina Re following her arrest over the death of her 86-year-old mother at their family home in Nairobi.
Regina Re (Regina Wambui Gitau) was the host of the game show Who’s Smarter Now? on KTN (Kenya Television Network).
Regina, whose real name is Regina Wambui Gitau, is among four relatives who have been ordered to remain in police custody for 10 days as detectives investigate the death of the elderly woman. The suspects appeared before the High Court at Kibera Law Courts on Monday, November 2, 2026, after detectives requested more time to investigate the killing of Dorita Lasinder Macharia.
The other suspects are Thandie Malaika Wanjiku Gitao, Immanuel Walgwe Munyeki, and Alton Jimmy Macharia.
According to information presented in court, the elderly woman was found dead inside her house at Loresho Ridge Estate on the night of October 30. She had suffered a deep cut on the left side of her neck.
Police Constable David Njoroge, who is investigating the case, told the court that the incident reportedly followed a disagreement between the deceased and her granddaughter, Thandie. The dispute allegedly started after the elderly woman found her granddaughter in a compromising situation with her boyfriend, Alton, inside her bedroom.
The discovery reportedly angered the woman, who ordered her granddaughter to leave the house and surrender the room keys. She also asked several friends who were inside the residence to leave.
The deceased later called her son, Jimmy, and requested his help in removing her granddaughter from the house.
Although Thandie initially left, detectives said she later returned and spent about an hour inside the house with her grandmother.

They will also obtain a postmortem report before forwarding the investigation file to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The four are being investigated for murder but have not been convicted.
