Fuji maestro, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, has again called for peace and unity between the National Union of Road Transport Workers’ President, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, and the Lagos State Chairman of the union, Mustapha Adekunle, popularly known as Tafa Sego.
The musician made the appeal during a performance at the 80th birthday celebration of Alhaji Mudassir Ogunlowo in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Sunday.
In a video shared on the Instagram page of K1 De Ultimate Digital Media, KWAM 1 was seen performing as MC Oluomo and Sego stood on either side of him. File Photo: Fuji artiste, Wasiu Ayinde, also known as KWAM1
In his lyrics, the Fuji star said, “Mustapha and MC are in charge of the house. For those of you wishing them evil, we know you but it is left to you and God.
“If you are a commercial driver in Nigeria, this is your boss. MC, if you are on the move, make sure you hold Sego with you.”
The caption accompanying the video read, “PEACE AT LAST! MC Oluomo & Mustapha Sego Finally End Their Long-Time Rift in Ibadan.”
PUNCH Online had earlier reported that KWAM 1 brokered a peace deal between the two transport union leaders at Ojusagbola in Ijebu, Ogun State, with several NURTW chieftains present.
The reconciliation was announced through the musician’s digital media page, which said the two men had settled their differences after years of disagreement.
“After years of an age-long rift, MC Oluomo and Tafa Sego have finally settled their differences. And from what we know now, this is final,” the post said.
The disagreement between the two men has been linked to leadership tensions within the Lagos chapter of the NURTW.
In January 2019, violence at an All Progressives Congress campaign rally in Ikeja left MC Oluomo injured.
The PUNCH reported at the time that a supremacy battle involving supporters of MC Oluomo and Sego disrupted the event, while the police subsequently declared Sego wanted over the incident. In September 2019, PUNCH reported that Sego was appointed to the caretaker committee of the NURTW led by MC Oluomo.
MC Oluomo later resigned as chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the union in January 2024 amid a leadership dispute.
Tensions between their camps resurfaced at KWAM 1’s New Year All White Party in Lagos on January 2, 2026, when the musician publicly recognised MC Oluomo as the head of the union, prompting a reaction from members associated with Sego’s camp.
The latest public display of reconciliation in Ibadan suggests a renewed effort by the Fuji musician to maintain peace between the two NURTW figures.
