You Say You’re APC Member In Abuja, You’re Contesting For Senate In Imo West;Nobody Knows You—Opurozor

According to a report by Arise News, on Saturday October 31, 2026, the war of words between the Imo State government and former governor Rochas Okorocha has taken a sharper turn, with the state administration questioning both Okorocha’s political footprint and his legacy in office.

Reacting to the legal tussle over the Imo West senatorial ticket on Arise News, Collins Opurozor, the Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Electronic and Creative Media, dismissed Okorocha’s grassroots relevance in the state and criticized his tenure as governor.

“You know one thing about authority: he belongs where the people believe he belongs. You [Rochas Okorocha] say you are a member of APC in Abuja yet you are running for senate in Imo West; people do not know you, and we need to trace the genesis of this whole debacle.”

Opurozor went on to deliver a harsh critique of Okorocha’s past administration, comparing his governance record unfavorably against past leaders in the country:

“So Rochas Okorocha when he was governor of Imo State posted some of the worst achievement you can ever talk about in modern governance, not even compared to that of Hope Uzodimma, compared to that of any worst governor you can think of in the history of this country.”
