Northern Ashanti Mines accuses NAIMOS of attempting to disable CCTV cameras

Northern Ashanti Mines Limited (NAMLC) has accused the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) of attempting to disconnect CCTV cameras at its Konongo mining site, allegedly to conceal evidence of illegal mining activities and an attempt to transfer its concessions to Chinese nationals.In a letter dated October 31, 2026, addressed to the Director of Operations of NAIMOS, lawyers for the mining company, Vint and Aletheia, said officers of the Secretariat had attempted to access the server room at the Konongo site to disconnect or switch off the CCTV cameras.
