Kenyans React as Kalonzo Reveals the Only Person Who Can Convince Him to Join Ruto’s Camp.

Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka has responded to renewed calls for him to work with President William Ruto, making it clear that he has no intention of abandoning the opposition ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Kalonzo addressed the matter on Sunday, November 1, 2026, while speaking after attending a church service at AIC Kyemutheke in Kyumvi, Machakos County.

The former Vice President dismissed reports suggesting that government officials were seeking to bring him into the Kenya Kwanza administration.

He maintained that joining Ruto’s government would contradict his position as one of the President’s leading political opponents.

“I have seen the headlines quoting Kalonzo, that people are looking for me. My answer is no, no! You don’t expect Kalonzo Musyoka to go to the government. It can’t be possible,” he said.

Kalonzo further challenged the President’s camp to focus on addressing the challenges facing Kenyans instead of attempting to persuade him to abandon the opposition.

“No, thank you. I cannot join hands with you when you have done so much injustice to millions of Kenyans. Many Kenyans are suffering under this administration; what am I joining you to do?” he stated.

His remarks came after several Kenya Kwanza leaders, including Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot and President Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet, publicly urged him to work with the government.

The renewed calls have also coincided with growing disagreements within the opposition over the 2027 presidential ticket, with Kalonzo, Fred Matiang’i, Rigathi Gachagua and Edwin Sifuna among the prominent figures involved in the political discussions.

Kalonzo, however, insisted that he intends to face Ruto at the ballot box rather than join his administration.

His latest declaration has attracted attention as Kenyans debate the future of the opposition and whether its leaders can maintain unity ahead of the next election.
