“Kalonzo is Likely to be Next Deputy President” Lawyer Omari Says How it Will Happen Using Azimio

Lawyer Danstan Omari has claimed that Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka could become President William Ruto’s running mate in the 2027 General Election through a possible coalition between UDA and Azimio.

Speaking on November 1, 2026, Omari suggested that political realignments could see Kalonzo join Ruto’s camp, potentially positioning him for the deputy president’s seat if the two political formations reach an agreement.

“Kalonzo is likely to be the next deputy president and running mate for UDA. We are seeing the old Azimio coalition of Raila Odinga joining with UDA,” Omari said.

His remarks point to the possibility of a major political arrangement involving Ruto and leaders who were previously aligned with the opposition coalition.

Kalonzo has been positioning himself within the opposition as political leaders begin shaping alliances ahead of the 2027 elections. However, no formal agreement confirming the proposed partnership or running mate arrangement has been announced.
