Government To Fund Javits Frimpong’s Mother’s Trip To America
According to a report by Citi FM today being Sunday, November 1, 2026, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has disclosed that the government will fully finance the travel arrangements of the mother of murdered 15-year-old Ghanaian, Javits Frimpong, to the United States for her son’s funeral.
According to the minister, the government is prepared to cover all the expenses associated with the mother’s journey to ensure that she can travel to the United States and participate in the final funeral arrangements for her son.
The intervention is intended to provide support to the bereaved mother as she struggles to come to terms with the tragic loss of her child.
The death of Javits Frimpong has attracted public attention, with many Ghanaians expressing concern over the circumstances surrounding the killing of the teenager. The incident has also brought attention to the challenges families sometimes face when dealing with the death of loved ones in foreign countries.
For the victim’s mother, travelling to the United States to attend the funeral is an important opportunity to be present during the final rites and say goodbye to her son. However, the financial demands associated with international travel could create additional difficulties for the family at an already painful time.
The government’s decision to take responsibility for the full travel expenses is therefore expected to ease that burden and allow the mother to focus on mourning her son rather than worrying about the cost of travelling abroad.
Ablakwa’s announcement also reflects the government’s intention to extend assistance to Ghanaian families affected by tragic incidents outside the country. Such support is particularly important in situations where relatives require urgent help to participate in funeral arrangements or other important matters involving loved ones abroad.
As the family continues to mourn the 15-year-old, the government’s intervention is expected to ensure that his mother can travel to the United States and attend the funeral without having to shoulder the entire financial responsibility herself.
