Former Athlete Alleges How Uhuru Failed To Keep A Promise That He Once Made To Him & Others
Kenyan rugby legend Collins Injera has opened up about his life and revealed that former President Uhuru Kenyatta never honoured a promise that he once made to him and the rest of his teammates.
The talented rugby player has actually revealed that the former Head of State never gave them brand new Toyota Prados, despite promising to do so after they won the main cup in the Singapore 7s of April 2016.
It can be remembered that Kenya 7s dubbed Shujaa famously defeated Fiji 30-7 in that final, something which was indeed historic because it had never been achieved before.
The incredible achievement also wowed the then President Uhuru Kenyatta, who made several pledges to the then 12-man squad, among them being him gifting each one of them brand new Toyota Prados.
Unfortunately however, former President Uhuru Kenyatta never kept his word and the Kenya 7s team that won the Singapore 7s have been waiting for those SUV cars since then.
This was disclosed today by Collins Injera, who was among those who played for the Kenya 7s team in April 2016, when it defeated Fiji in the main cup final.
The rugby legend took to his instagram stories and shared a screenshot of an article that talked about the pledges that the Head of State made then.
Collins Injera then accompanied the photo with a caption of him wondering how it has now been 10 years, and none of them has gotten the Toyota Prados.
“Wuehhh 10 years later bado tunangoja zero mileage, mchezo wa TAUN!!! 😂” He said.
Collins Injera also used the opportunity to expose how former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko never fulfilled the promise that he also made to the Kenya 7s team.
The flamboyant politician had apparently promised to give every Kenya 7s player Kshs 100,000 for winning Singapore 7s.
“Hii tungeweka kwa locked savings hio time, sahii ingekua imeingiza interest ingine mwecheche 🤣” Collins Injera said.
