“Everything Under President Tinubu Is Collapsing, We Have Become More Terrorised–Obi

According to a report by Daily Post on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration, claiming that the country is experiencing a gradual breakdown due to worsening insecurity, corruption and poor management of public resources.

Obi made the remarks on Saturday during a town hall meeting in Imo State, where he discussed Nigeria’s current political and economic conditions and expressed concerns about the direction of the country under the present government.

The former Anambra State governor accused the Federal Government of failing to respond effectively to the challenges confronting Nigerians, particularly the growing threats to national security and allegations of widespread corruption.

He argued that the increasing cases of criminal activities and the alleged misappropriation of public funds showed that the government was struggling to fulfil its responsibilities.

Obi also questioned the administration’s ability to protect citizens, stressing that providing security for lives and property remains one of the fundamental duties of any government.

According to him, the worsening security situation has made life increasingly difficult for many Nigerians, with some communities facing persistent threats that prevent residents from carrying out their normal activities without fear.

The NDC presidential candidate maintained that urgent measures were needed to address the situation and rebuild public confidence in government institutions.

He further criticised what he described as the growing acceptance of insecurity and corruption in the country, insisting that both problems must be tackled to achieve meaningful national development.

Obi also outlined his proposed approach if elected president in 2027, promising to make security a central focus of his administration and introduce measures to confront criminal groups operating across the country.

Additionally, he pledged to strengthen accountability in public financial management and prevent the diversion of government resources, arguing that public funds should be used to improve the welfare of citizens.
