Atiku’s Son Reveals Why He Supports Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election, Makes Major Move With 10 Luxury Buses

Abba Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, explaining that his political decision is guided by personal conviction rather than family background.

According to a report by Vanguard on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Abba announced his position in Abuja while presenting the mobilisation plans of the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation (HBTO), an advocacy group he leads.

His decision has attracted attention because his father, Atiku Abubakar, remains a prominent opposition figure and a political rival of President Tinubu. However, Abba insisted that his relationship with the former vice president would not prevent him from making independent political choices.

He said: “I wish to make one fundamental point: political conviction is a matter of personal judgement, conscience and the freedom of every individual to make independent choices,” Abba said.

He also maintained that Nigerians should respect different political opinions and allow individuals to support candidates based on their personal assessments.

Defending Tinubu’s administration, Abba acknowledged that some economic reforms had placed difficulties on citizens but argued that the government introduced them with the expectation of achieving long-term improvements.

He cited initiatives such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, increased revenue allocations to state governments, road construction and transportation support for public sector workers as examples of the administration’s activities.

Beyond his endorsement, Abba disclosed that HBTO was preparing a nationwide mobilisation campaign ahead of the 2027 election. The organisation plans to provide 10 luxury buses to support its operations, beginning in Abuja before expanding to other parts of the country.

He also announced plans for a two-million-man march involving supporters from the six geopolitical zones, with Abuja expected to host the initial mobilisation.

Abba further revealed that the organisation was working with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to strengthen its political activities in Abuja and Rivers State.

He said the group was also building grassroots connections with community leaders, youth organisations, women’s groups and other political stakeholders to expand its support network.

The announcement marks Abba’s public alignment with Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election, despite his father’s opposing political position.
