Rulani Mokwena Dedicates Pyramids FC Victory to Player Following Family Tragedy

South African football coach Rulani Mokwena has shown his compassionate side after dedicating Pyramids FC’s latest victory to midfielder Abdelrahman Magdy, who is mourning the death of his mother.

The Egyptian club shared a heartfelt message expressing its condolences to Magdy and his family following the sad news. Mokwena also acknowledged the difficult circumstances facing the player, offering support during a painful period in his personal life.

In its message, Pyramids FC extended its sympathies to the midfielder and his loved ones.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Abdelrahman Magdy following the death of his mother,” the club stated.

The gesture highlighted the sense of togetherness within the Pyramids FC dressing room. By dedicating the victory to Magdy, Mokwena and the club demonstrated that supporting players goes beyond football and match-day performances.

Mokwena, who previously coached Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, has been building his career in Egyptian football since taking charge of Pyramids FC. His approach has attracted attention from South African football supporters who continue to follow his progress abroad.

However, his latest gesture has highlighted another important responsibility of management: looking after players during difficult personal circumstances.

Losing a parent is an incredibly painful experience, and the support of teammates, coaches and the entire football community can make a difference during such challenging moments.

As Pyramids FC continues its domestic and continental campaign, the club has made it clear that its players remain a family, even when football takes a back seat to personal struggles.

Our thoughts and condolences go to Abdelrahman Magdy and his family during this difficult time.
