Pirates Oswin Appollis Left Kaizer Chiefs In Tears After This Revealed

TRANSFERMARKT BOMBSHELL! Oswin Appollis Leads Soweto Derby Stars as Pirates and Chiefs’ Most Valuable Players Are Revealed

SOUTH AFRICAN FOOTBALL NEWS | 30 OCTOBER 2026

The financial value of players expected to feature in the highly anticipated Soweto Derby has attracted attention, with Orlando Pirates attacker Oswin Appollis emerging as the most valuable star, according to Transfermarkt.

The Buccaneers forward is reportedly valued at €2.5 million, which translates to approximately R46.5 million. His position at the top of the valuation rankings highlights the growing reputation and market appeal of the Pirates attacker.

The latest player valuations provide an interesting talking point ahead of one of the biggest fixtures on the South African football calendar, as Kaizer Chiefs prepare to face their fierce rivals, Orlando Pirates.

Appollis has become an important attacking option for Pirates, with his creativity, attacking movement and ability to influence matches making him a player opposition defenders must pay close attention to.

His impressive market valuation also reflects the attention surrounding his performances and potential in South African football.

However, the Soweto Derby is never decided by transfer-market figures. Both clubs have players capable of producing decisive moments, regardless of their individual financial valuations.

For Kaizer Chiefs, the occasion presents another opportunity for their talented squad to demonstrate its quality against their biggest rivals. The likes of Mduduzi Shabalala and other attacking players will be hoping to make their mark when the two giants meet.

Pirates, meanwhile, will be counting on their attacking quality and squad depth to help them secure bragging rights.

The Transfermarkt rankings also underline the financial and sporting importance of the Soweto Derby, with several highly rated players expected to attract attention from supporters and football observers.

Although Appollis currently leads the valuation list, the real battle will take place on the pitch, where individual performances, tactical discipline and teamwork will ultimately determine the outcome.

For supporters, the comparison offers another exciting dimension to an already heated rivalry.

One thing is certain: while Appollis may be the most valuable player on paper, both Chiefs and Pirates will be desperate to prove their superiority when it matters most.
