Nigerian Govt Reportedly Starts ₦50,000 Cash Support For Vulnerable Households

The Federal Government of Nigeria has reportedly started a new cash support programme for selected poor and vulnerable households.Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr Bernard Doro, announced it on Friday, October 30, 2026.The programme is called the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI) and aims to help families cope with high food prices and the rising cost of living.
