GES investigating alleged assault of student by two teachers at Techiman SHS

The Ghana Education Service (GES) says it is investigating an alleged assault on a student by two teachers at Techiman Senior High School, after a video of the incident began circulating in the media.

In a statement dated October 31, 2026, GES called the video “disturbing” and identified the teachers as Mr Jerry Jones Owusu Bekoe and Mr Adusa Ameyaw.

The statement said the school’s disciplinary committee has held its first hearing and its findings will go to management through the Regional Directorate in the coming days, to guide further action.

According to GES, the affected student, a final-year Agricultural Science student, has received medical attention and is responding positively to treatment.

Management urged the public to stay calm as the investigations continue.
