CHIEFS BOMBSHELL! Mfundo Vilakazi Reveals How Wandile Duba Is Helping Youngsters Silence Critics Ahead of Soweto Derby

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA — 30 OCTOBER 2026

Kaizer Chiefs youngster Mfundo Vilakazi has revealed how striker Wandile Duba is helping young players at Naturena develop confidence, embrace pressure and ignore criticism as Amakhosi prepare for their highly anticipated Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates.

Vilakazi believes Duba’s fearless mentality and encouraging words have played an important role in helping the younger members of the squad believe in their abilities, particularly when facing criticism from supporters and football observers.

Playing for a club as big as Kaizer Chiefs comes with enormous expectations. Young footballers are regularly placed under the spotlight, with every mistake, missed opportunity and inconsistent performance attracting attention.

However, Vilakazi believes young players should not allow outside opinions to determine their confidence or affect their performances on the pitch.

According to the midfielder, Duba has been encouraging his teammates to remain brave, express themselves and approach matches without fear.

The striker’s message has become particularly important as Chiefs continue to rely on emerging talents to deliver results in a demanding Betway Premiership campaign.
