Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla Spotted at EFF’s Tshela Thupa Rally in Soweto

Former president Jacob Zuma’s daughter, Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, has attracted attention after being spotted attending the Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) highly anticipated Tshela Thupa Rally at Orlando Amstel Arena in Soweto on Saturday, 31 October 2026.

Her appearance at the gathering has sparked interest, particularly as political parties intensify their campaigns ahead of the upcoming Local Government Elections.

The rally, which attracted thousands of EFF supporters dressed in the party’s trademark red regalia, was presented as one of the organisation’s major campaign events. The Orlando Stadium stands were filled with supporters who gathered to hear the party leadership outline its political priorities and municipal campaign message.

Zuma-Sambudla’s presence added another prominent political figure to the gathering, although her attendance alone does not establish any formal political agreement or change in party affiliation.

The EFF’s Tshela Thupa Rally is traditionally an important mobilisation event for the party, providing an opportunity for its leadership to address supporters and communicate its plans ahead of elections.

EFF Commander-in-Chief Julius Malema was expected to deliver a major address, including outlining the party’s municipal service delivery priorities and giving direction to campaign volunteers.

The gathering also comes as political organisations seek to strengthen their support among voters, with issues such as unemployment, electricity, water shortages, housing and municipal accountability expected to feature prominently in election campaigns.

Zuma-Sambudla’s appearance is likely to generate further discussion about political relationships and personalities surrounding the country’s changing political landscape.

However, her attendance should not automatically be interpreted as an official endorsement of the EFF or a formal political realignment.
