Doris Ogala Kneels To Beg Judge As Lawyer Reveals Next Move On Cybercrime Charges
According to a report by The Punch on Saturday, October 31, 2026, nollywood actress Doris Ogala has tendered a tearful apology to a Federal High Court in Lagos, kneeling down before Justice Akintayo Aluko over her unruly behaviour during an earlier sitting.
The actress, who is facing trial on charges of cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and attempted extortion involving Pastor Chris Okafor, was however sent back to the Kirikiri Correctional Centre as the judge reserved ruling on her bail application until November 6.
Ogala had caused a scene on Wednesday after her arraignment by shouting and singing in the courtroom, forcing proceedings to halt and disrupting over seven other scheduled cases.
Expressing deep remorse, she told the judge she had never been to prison before, regretted her actions, and promised never to repeat such conduct.
Justice Aluko expressed disappointment that the disruption occurred despite the court’s effort to fast-track her bail hearing within 48 hours.
Though noting that her actions warranted at least a two-month prison sentence for contempt, the judge chose to keep his cool.
During the hearing, prosecution counsel Tolulope Mokolu urged the court to impose stringent bail conditions, citing concerns that the actress’s social media activities could interfere with witnesses.
Meanwhile, Ogala’s lawyer, Marshal Abubakar, revealed plans to petition the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice to withdraw the charges.
Abubakar argued that the case stems from a private dispute between former lovers and should not be treated as a criminal matter, insisting that individuals seeking redress for defamation should instead pursue civil proceedings.
