Versat advances EXEED’s entry into Nigeria’s auto market
Versat Automobile Limited is advancing plans to introduce EXEED, a premium automotive brand under China’s Chery Automobile, to Nigeria, with a focus on technology, design, performance and changing consumer expectations.
The company, which initially introduced the brand to the Nigerian market in August, is using its pre-launch activities to showcase EXEED’s engineering capabilities, intelligent vehicle systems and design philosophy ahead of further product disclosures.
EXEED draws on Chery’s investments in automotive research and development, including vehicle architecture, powertrain engineering, intelligent cabin systems and connected driving technology. However, the premium brand is building a distinct identity around innovation, contemporary design and what it describes as a spirit of exploration.
According to the company, its approach to innovation goes beyond incorporating advanced features into vehicles to focus on improving the driving experience through convenience, connectivity, intelligence and performance.
Design is another key element of the brand’s positioning, with emphasis on exterior proportions, lighting, detailing and cabin architecture, alongside functionality and everyday usability.
The strategy comes as Nigeria’s premium automotive market evolves, with buyers increasingly considering technology, comfort, performance, design and ownership experience in addition to traditional measures of luxury.
Christopher Irumudomon, General Manager, Sales, Versat Automobile Limited, said the introduction of EXEED represented an effort to bring a different proposition to Nigeria’s premium automotive segment.
“The introduction of EXEED is about more than bringing another automotive brand to Nigeria. It is about introducing a different perspective on premium mobility, one that brings together technology, design, performance and the freedom to explore,” he said.
Irumudomon added that the company was looking forward to giving Nigerian consumers a closer understanding of the brand’s philosophy and product offerings.
EXEED’s positioning is anchored on the theme “Born for More”, which the company says reflects its ambition to appeal to consumers seeking distinctive experiences and alternatives to conventional premium mobility.
Versat said additional information about the brand’s technology, design principles and vehicle lineup would be released as its pre-launch programme progresses.
The company is also exploring developments at the intersection of automotive innovation and emerging technologies.
For Versat, EXEED’s entry presents an opportunity to introduce a new premium offering into Nigeria’s automotive market. However, its reception will depend on the products available, pricing, after-sales support and the overall ownership experience delivered to customers.
As preparations continue, further announcements are expected to provide details of the vehicles and technologies EXEED intends to bring to Nigerian buyers.
