Atiku lied, Tinubu not planning to postpone elections – Presidential aide;OBJ,Obasanjo’s verdict, Amaechi’s entry weaken Atiku, ADC ticket — Wike

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, has said there is no plan to postpone the 2027 general elections, contrary to the “lies” of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Olusegun said Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress, APC, have nothing to do with any such plan, if there is one.

He was responding to Atiku’s comments that the Tinubu-led APC wants to move the 2027 election date due to the party’s experience during the presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna State.

Atiku said: “I’ve heard that they want to change the election date because of what happened in Kaduna. Whatever the reason, they must hold the election, and when they do, we will vote them out.”

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has questioned former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar’s record in office, citing former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s criticism of his former deputy, while arguing that the entry of former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi into the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has further complicated the party’s chances ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Wike, who spoke on Thursday at a Rainbow Coalition meeting in Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State, challenged Atiku to account for his eight years as vice-president under Obasanjo between 1999 and 2007, arguing that his record should be central to the debate over his renewed presidential ambition.

He also questioned the ADC’s capacity to offer Nigerians a convincing alternative to President Bola Tinubu, insisting that the records of its prominent figures must be scrutinised before they seek higher office.

The Department of State Services (DSS) in Ogun State has reportedly invited three leaders of the Fusengbuwa ruling house over the alleged sale of expression-of-interest forms to princes seeking to become the next Awujale of Ijebuland.

Those reportedly invited are the Chairman of the ruling house, Otunba Abdulateef Owoyemi; the deputy chairman, Otunba Dokun Ajidagba; and the vice chairman, Prof. Fassy Yusuf.

The invitation comes amid an ongoing dispute over the selection of a new Awujale following the death of the previous monarch, Oba Sikiru Adetona, in July 2025, at the age of 91, after 65 years on the throne.

A letter circulating online, purportedly signed by one Yemi Oloto, directed the three ruling house leaders to appear before the State Director of Security at the DSS office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 4 p.m.

An Assistant Director in the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, Hajiya Halima Omolara Ibrahim, has accused Mining Marshal operatives of assaulting and detaining her while performing her official duties at a mining site in Kwakuti, Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger State.

Ibrahim made the allegation while testifying before the Justice Mohammed Mohammed Judicial Commission of Inquiry investigating the deaths of 37 suspected illegal miners in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.

She told the commission that the incident occurred on April 17, 2026, when operatives allegedly led by SC Jibrin Mohammed raided the site and arrested her alongside artisanal miners.
