SA Lady Who Went Missing After Telling Another Lady To Take Care Of Her 2 Kids Is Being Searched For

Missing Person South Africa has issued a public appeal for assistance in locating Grace Mabusela, a woman believed to have originated from East London. The organisation is seeking any information that could help establish her current whereabouts and facilitate contact with her family.

According to a woman residing in KwaZulu-Natal, Grace placed her two young sons, aged four years and one year, into the caregiver’s temporary care during June 2026. At that time, Grace indicated that she intended to travel to Mbombela in the company of her boyfriend. She requested that the caregiver look after the children for the duration of her absence, assuring that she would remain in touch and eventually return to resume full responsibility for them.

The caregiver reports that she last saw Grace in the early part of June 2026. Since that meeting, all attempts to reach Grace by telephone or other means of communication have been unsuccessful. On 11 June, the caregiver received a message from Grace’s boyfriend. In that message he stated that their relationship had come to an end while they were in Mbombela and that Grace had chosen to separate from him. Beyond this single communication, no further reliable information about Grace’s movements or condition has been received.

Grace’s present location remains unknown. The appeal launched by Missing Person South Africa is motivated by two primary concerns: first, the need to reconnect Grace with her relatives so that her safety and well-being can be confirmed; and second, the necessity of clarifying long-term arrangements for the care and support of her two young children, who continue to reside with the caregiver in KwaZulu-Natal.

Family members, friends, acquaintances, or any member of the public who may have seen Grace, spoken with her, or possess knowledge of her relatives are strongly encouraged to come forward. Even seemingly minor details could prove valuable in tracing her movements after she left for Mbombela. Those with information are asked to contact Missing Person South Africa directly on the telephone number 068 176 9574. The organisation emphasises that all calls will be handled with discretion and that the primary goal is the safe reconnection of Grace with her family and the proper resolution of the children’s care arrangements.

The case highlights the distress that arises when a parent becomes uncontactable while young children remain dependent on temporary carers. Missing Person South Africa therefore urges widespread sharing of this appeal across communities in KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, the Eastern Cape, and beyond, in the hope that someone who recognises Grace or knows of her current situation will respond promptly.
