Mwengi Mutuse: Impeached Gachagua cannot serve as DCP party official

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has been told to stop presenting himself as an official of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), with Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse citing constitutional provisions that he says bar impeached state officers from holding public office.Mutuse argued that Article 75(3) of the Constitution prevents an impeached state officer from holding public office, including serving as an official of a political party.
