Mdaka Names U23 Squad for Madagascar Qualifiers

South Africa Under-23 head coach Raymond Mdaka has announced his squad for the upcoming Olympic Games qualifying fixtures against Madagascar, with Orlando Pirates players making a strong impression in the selection.

The latest announcement highlights the contribution of Pirates to the national youth setup, as several of the club’s promising players have earned places in the squad ahead of the important two-legged contest.

South Africa will face Madagascar in back-to-back qualifiers as both countries pursue a place in the next stage of the Olympic qualification process. The matches are expected to provide an opportunity for the selected players to demonstrate their abilities while representing their country in an important international assignment.

Pirates’ strong presence in the squad reflects the club’s investment in developing young footballers and providing opportunities for emerging talents to compete at a higher level. Their inclusion also gives the Buccaneers an opportunity to have their players contribute to South Africa’s ambitions on the international stage.

For Mdaka, selecting the right combination of players will be important as he prepares his team for the challenges posed by Madagascar. The coach will be looking for a balanced squad capable of competing effectively across both encounters.

The qualifiers will also offer valuable experience to the young footballers, many of whom will be hoping to establish themselves as important figures in South African football in the coming years.

With the Olympic qualification campaign becoming increasingly important, the selected players will be expected to approach the fixtures with discipline, commitment and determination.

Pirates’ representation will attract attention, but the overall responsibility rests with the entire squad as South Africa prepares for the two matches.
